Tuesday, Apr. 14 - Outing 1.  Historic Courthouse Tour in Inverness, Lunch, then a tour of Ziggy's Haven Bird Sanctuary.  Convene in Brownwood at 9:15 am to carpool.

Friday, Apr. 17 - Walk & Talk. This event happens on the third Friday of the month at 10 am. Location this month is Fenney Rec trails. (Meet on the front porch.)  Lunch at 11 am at Fenney Grill.

Monday, Apr. 20 - Lunch. We meet for lunch on the third Monday of the month at 11:30 am. Location this month is Prime + Ember Steakhouse. 7030 Central Lake Dr., Wildwood (Eastport). RSVP to Janice; she will always need a head count for reservations.

​Thursday, Apr. 23 - General Meeting. The meeting is on the fourth Thursday of the month at 12 noon at Sterling Heights Recreation. Our speaker Rick Brumett will present "Tariffs: An Apolitical Overview." There is time to socialize and eat your bag lunch after the presentation.

Sunday, Apr. 26 - Arts, Crafts & Curious. The craft time starts at 1:30 pm at Lake Okahumpka Recreation Center the fourth Sunday of the month. Check announcements on Facebook page for particulars and costs.

Saturday, Apr. 25 - Outing 2.  Over the Road Truck Chrome and Light Show, 6:30 pm. This even has free parking and admission.  Also has food trucks. Meet at Brownwood to carpool.

 

Wednesday, Apr. 29 - Theater 2. Only Some of Gods Children or Mississippi Magnolias will play at 7 pm at Studio Theatre. There is a pre-play option at 5 pm at Tierra Del Sol. RSVP to Christie so she has a headcount.

Monday, May 4 - Happy Hour. Let's meet at Evans Prairie Country Club 4 - 6 pm for drinks and/or dinner.  No RSVP is necessary.

​

Tuesday, May 5 - Movie and Meal. We meet for a matinee movie inside the Epic Theatre at Lake Sumter Landing in front of the room where the movie will play 15 minutes before the movie.  This month's movie will be decided by a poll on Facebook starting the Thursday before the movie.  Please vote for your choice and then check on the Monday before it to see which movie and what time.  We each get our own tickets, and you can buy them at the theater window, or skip the line and buy them online at Epic's website or at the kiosk inside the theater (my favorite).  If you join their Loyalty Club, the tickets are less than $7 on Tuesdays!  Please wear your name tag so we can find each other.  Afterwards we will go for an optional meal and socializing at Lake Sumter Landing.​

Wednesday, May 13 - Outing 1. Tour Howey Mansion. This is a 1920's 24-room Mediterranean Revival home designed by a woman.  Lunch at Boondocks on Little Lake Harris. There is also a free tour of Beautiful Bamboo. RSVP to Christa. To carpool meet at the Eastport Town Center.

Thursday, May 14 - Book Club. The club meets the second Thursday of the month at 1 pm at Fenney Recreation Center.   This month's book is Finding Dorothy by E. Letts.  There is an optional post-meeting session at Fenney Grill.​​

Friday, May 15 - Walk & Talk. This event happens on the third Friday of the month at 10 am. Location is TBA. Lunch follows.

WEEKLY EVENTS

​Bridge.  The Bridge group meets twice a month on the second and fourth Sunday from 2-4 pm.  Contact our new coordinator Connie Ratliffe.

​

Executive Golf (North)  WDC’s two golf groups play weekly.  Both groups are relaxed, non-competitive groups.  The North group plays on Thursdays on executive courses north of Lake Sumter Landing. Contact Christie for locations and tee times. Weather might keep these events from happening, so contact coordinators.

 

Executive Golf (South).  WDC’s two golf groups play weekly.  Both groups are relaxed, non-competitive groups. The South group plays on Fridays on executive courses south of C.R. 466. Contact Jane Howard to play with the South group. Weather might keep these events from happening, so contact coordinators.

Mahjong.  The group meets Mondays at 1 pm in members' homes. You must know the basics of the game to participate. Contact Kim Bethea to take part.

Samba (the card game, not the dance).  Our Samba group plays on Wednesday afternoons, meeting at 1 pm in members’ homes. If you would like to play, please contact Nancy Sacks.
